Revd Dr David Nixon is Rector of Stoke Damerel and St Aubyn's churches in Plymouth, UK. He was previously an associate research fellow at the University of Exeter, covering South-West England, for the ESRC-funded No Outsiders Project. (David and I also worked together on my British Academy-funded research project "Readings from the Road", about which you can read more here and in David's new book with Ashgate, Stories from the Street: A Theology of Homelessness.)

Christina Beardsley, "Nudging Towards Serendipity: The Church of England and Transsexual People" (p. 17-24)

Revd Dr Christina Beardsley is the head of multifaith chaplaincy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. She is the vice-chair and trustee for transgender people with Changing Attitude England. She is also the author of The Transsexual Person Is My Neighbour:Pastoral Guidelines for Christian Clergy, Pastors and Congregations (Gender Trust, 2007) and Unutterable Love: The Passionate Life and Preaching of F.W.Robertson (Lutterworth Press, 2009).

Tim Gibson, "Dealing with Issues: How does the Church of England live with its Teaching about Homosexuality?" (p. 25-32)

Dr Tim Gibson is a director of the South West Ministry Training Course in Exeter, UK and a freelnace journalist. He is an honorary fellow of the University of Exeter. He is the author of Church and Countryside: Insights from Rural Theology (SCM Press, 2010).

Beth Crisp, "Can the Church be Good News for Survivors of Sexual Abuse?" (p. 33-40)

Professor Beth R. Crisp is the discipline leader for social work in the School of Health and Social Development at Deakin University in Victoria, Australia. She is the author of Spirituality and Social Work (Ashgate, 2010) and Beyond Crucifixion: Meditations on Surviving Sexual Abuse (Darton, Longman and Todd, 2010).
